The Kanbar Target Dental X-ray system raises the bar in dental procedure comfort and sanitation.

Dental X-rays can be a painful experience for patients. The film-holding bites of existing systems are rigid and sharp-edged, to ensure the film stays in place and captures a clear image. But, since this patient suffering only lasted a few minutes, this was accepted by both patients and dentists alike.

Also, current dental x-ray systems all had reusable bites. These bites would, of course, be cleaned and sanitized between patients. This caused additional work for staff, and doubt from patients about just how well they are cleaned (most who didn’t realize they were reused were horrified).

The Kanbar Target system introduced a rounded, softer, flexible bite system which was designed to hold the X-ray film in place and gently curve with the inside of the patient’s mouth. This greatly reduces patient pain and discomfort, while preserving the integrity of the image on the X-ray film.

The Kanbar system also introduced disposable bites. This eliminated the need for staff to clean between uses. Each bite is individually sealed and wrapped, ensuring cleanliness. This also alleviates patient concerns since each bite is opened at the time of use, in front of the patient, and then disposed.

The Ring and Beam are steam-sterilizable and autoclavable. The beam includes printed focal markings to aid in set up for dentists.
